Since February of this year, World of Warcraft has been dealing with a growing plague of bots on its servers. The cause most likely lies in the reduction of layers (and consequently, queues), which only worsened the existing problem. Some Blizzard departments have tried to combat it by rewarding players for reporting bots.

Among such warriors was the streamer Greek Wario. Unfortunately, the last battle turned out to be so tough that the studio (or more likely - the company's algorithms) couldn't distinguish bot actions from those of real people.

"I will get my money back if you keep siding with bots"

According to a post on X by Greek Wario, the streamer was banned on November 17 for engaging in mass player killing. His account was "muted" until November 23, with reports received from Chinese creators of bots. Wario didn't hide his disappointment, informing larger fan accounts about the event.

Yall really banning me for killing bots even though I have not spoken in game in weeks? I pay with my credit card for all my accounts I will get my money back if you keep siding with bots.

-- Greek Wario

N_Tys, a commentator in the WoW community, responded to the news by publishing a post explaining Wario's situation along with footage from the stream with all the evidence attached.

According to the official version, Wario was getting rid of bots on the Whitemane Classic Era server that day. The Chinese creator of fake accounts didn't take this well and gathered a proverbial "crew" on Discord to mass report the player. As a result, the affected account received a ban from Blizzard.

Wario commented under the above tweet, announcing to everyone that he doesn't intend to give up. To quote his words, WoW it's "our game and everyone has to stand up for it." At the moment, Blizzard hasn't responded to the whole situation.
