Chains of Domination Update Coming to WoW
World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will finally get a bigger batch of novelties. These will be found in the update 9.1 Chains of Domination, which will also enable us to fly around the locations from the expansion.
Blizzard revealed the release date of Chains of Domination, a major update to World of Wacraft: Shadowlands. The long-awaited new content will be available on June 30 as part of patch 9.1. A taste of some of the highlights of the upcoming update is presented in a fresh trailer released by the developers.
Chains of Domination is the first major patch with new content for World of Warcraft since the release of Shadowlands last year. Since November 2020, players have mostly received various patches and minor modifications to the content introduced in the expansions. That will change with update 9.1, which will introduce a new zone within The Maw: Korthia, the City of Secrets.
With this, characters will be able to take on more challenges like the Sanctum of Domination raid consisting of 10 bosses (led by the mighty Jailer), the world boss Mor'Geth, and the megadungeon Tazaveshu. However, the first of these attractions will not be available at launch. Normal and Heroic modes will be unlocked on July 7, and more wings along with a mythic variant will be made available every two weeks until August 24. New items will also be added to the Torghast Tower, including additional rewards.
Of course, update 9.1 also includes new pets, items, transmog kits and 40 additional levels of Renown, as well as new gameplay mechanics and systems, such as Shards of Domination and Empowered Conduits, which will enable us to get even better equipment. In addition, with the debut of Chains of Domination players will finally be able to use flying mounts.
