World War 3 - Limited Player Base Forces Devs to Merge Regional Servers

The Farm 51 announced plans to merge regions in World War 3. This means that players from all over the world will be able to play on the same servers without having to change their Steam settings and lose progress on their profiles.

The declining popularity of the game has forced the devs to merge regional servers.
WORLD WAR 3 IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Developer: The Farm 51
  2. Publisher: The Farm 51
  3. Genre: action game
  4. Platform: PC
  5. Early Access release date: October 20 2018.

Polish studio The Farm 51 has announced plans to remove the regional restrictions in World War 3 and soon players from around the world will be able to play together on the same servers. The change will probably happen this week.

Currently, the game's community is divided into three groups - the first one covers North and South America, the second Asia and Oceania, and the third Europe and Africa. Creators enable us to change regions, but this option is not easily available on Steam, especially after the recent update of the site's interface, and in addition, switching to another territory will result in a loss of progress in our profile. Soon these problems will become a thing of the past.

Recall that World War 3 debuted in early access on October 20, 2018. The creators decided to separate the territories in order to reduce the burden on server infrastructure. The game initially achieved impressive sales results, but soon began to lose players. According to Steam Charts yesterday, at the hottest point of the day, only 97 players were playing the title at the same time.

Most of the users are on servers assigned to Europe and Africa, making some of the players from other continents abandon their territory to have someone to play with, which has only increased problems in the Americas and Asia. Therefore, merging of the regions is a good thing. The fan community of World War 3 is currently so small that it makes no sense to divide it into smaller groups.
