Winter Gotham in The Batman; New Batcave Revealed
Set for the new Batman looks really impressive, as can be seen in new aerial shots released online. They confirm that at least some part of the movie will take place in winter.
We had to wait almost a month for a set of more pictures from The Batman. Last time, we watched Gotham City under the cover of night lit up by police sirens. Now we can admire some bird's-eye photographs, showing the impressive set that makes up this fictional city. There are several dozen of shots available and you can see them all on the website of Daily Mail - we will present the most interesting bunch, which tell us the most about Matt Reeves' upcoming movie.
Thanks to the pictures we know first of all that part of The Batman will take place in winter. Last time we had a chance to see Batman in the snow was on the occasion of Batman Returns directed by Tim Burton, a good 28 years ago. Some fans are also hoping that the snow announces the presence of Mr. Freeze in the movie, but we don't think there will be any room left for him, since we already know about Penguin and Riddler.
The creators even managed to recreate the batcave, and they did not do so in some remote area, but in the middle of the city. It is quite large and resembles a rocky hill covered with greenery. Although it wasn't possible to find out what's inside, you can see a large hole where at least a few members of the film crew could fit.
The journalists also managed to photograph a slightly larger setpiece of what looks like an industrial harbor. A couple of run-down streets, grey, slightly rotten buildings and a characteristic gate suggest that we are dealing with Gotham Harbour Iceberg Fishing Co., which is one of those stinking places where the Penguin's gang may reside.
So it's good to see that the works are not only moving at a stable pace, but also that their effects make a good impression. The creators put a lot of effort into showing us a Gotham that will enthrall us with its dark, dense atmosphere. The Batmanwill debut in cinemas on March 4, 2022, starring Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz and Paul Dano.
