Windows 10 Update Will Add 'Floating' Start Menu and Rounded Edges

The look of Windows 10 could be about to change. An update planned for the second half of this year is expected to separate the start menu from the taskbar and add rounded edges to the interface.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • Floating start menu and numerous interface curves are the most important new features in the upcoming update for Windows 10.

Microsoft is preparing a facelift of Windows 10's appearance, and it will come in the form of a larger 21H2 update called "Sun Valley." One of the most noticeable changes will be the floating start menu, which will be disconnected from the taskbar. The menu window is also expected to gain a rounded interface, so in a sense, history will come full circle (Windows XP and 7 did not have angular windows).

The visual changes are also expected to include a pop-up menu and a search box. It's also believed that tiles may be rounded, and Microsoft is also working on changes to the look of the notification window and calendar. The new menus are shown in recent posts by Zac Bowden (a verified observer and editor at Windows Central):

Numerous leaks have made it possible to simulate the interface of the refreshed Windows 10. The images posted in the information on WindowsLatest are not screenshots, but the work of a graphic designer. Although this appearance may be very probable, looking at the visual side of Windows 10X. It was the trailers of Chrome OS' rivals prepared by Microsoft that showed the rounded corners and island menu for the first time.

Work on the new face of the Windows 10 interface is expected to be completed in June. The first changes may soon be made available to the participants of the Insider program. Windows 10 users should receive the 21H2 update in October, this year. Let's hope that there will be no additional problems this time.
