Will Starfield Offer Multiplayer?
Starfield is a thoroughbred single-player RPG. But can we expect an implementation of a multiplayer mode?
Yesterday's Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase provided us with the first presentation of Starfield, which included an extensive gameplay. Thanks to this we finally got to know how the upcoming production looks like in reality.
The material focused, of course, on the single player mode. However, will Starfield offer something also for fans of playing with friends?
Can we play Starfield with friends?
The simplest answer to the above question is: no. Starfield is an RPG created with the idea of playing solo. Not without a reason the game is sometimes called Skyrim in space.
Most of the time we will spend here on lonely wandering through planets and settlements scattered on their surface. The plot, which we will explore solo, is also crucial in the game.
Bethesda also does not intend to create a separate multiplayer module. It's simply a game that was never thought of in terms of playing with friends.
Will multiplayer mode come to the game in the future?
The fact that Bethesda has no plans to introduce a multiplayer mode to Starfield doesn't mean that we will never see it. Modders can take matters into their own hands.
At this point it's worth to refer to a similar situation in the case of Skyrim, which is another game from the studio that does not have a multiplayer mode. Despite this, the fans decided to implement it themselves.
The mod is called Skyrim Together and is being successively improved by the creators. Judging by the recently published materials, we can soon expect a full release.
Not always, however, everything ends in success. The team responsible for the modification also worked on Fallout Together with a view to the fourth installment of the series. Unfortunately, it has just been announced that the development of the mod has been stopped.
We have to remember that even modifications announced and developed for a long time can be eventually scrapped.
Nevertheless, we can keep our fingers crossed that in the future we might see a mod called Starfield Together. That said, we will have to wait a lot of time before we see it.
