Dune 2 – filming locations
Because of the shooting of Dune: Part Two, the crew and cast traveled to various parts of the world to film scenes for Denis Villeneuve's new movie. They appeared in Budapest, Hungary, among other places, and while no specific location was given, it can be assumed that, as with the filming of the first one, battle scenes were filmed in Origo Film Studios’ backlot. While filming the first part, the crew also visited Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, where they found their rock shelters from Arrakis. It is possible that UAE locations were used in the same way this time, since they also filmed something here.
The Wadi Rum desert in Jordan was also used as Arrakis. This was the case not only with Dune 2, but also with the first movie. New locations that Denis Villeneuve's team used for the first time in the series include Ativole in Italy. Memoriale Brion is a tomb from Ativole, which served as the Corrino household in the film. Anya Taylor-Joy shot her desert beach scene in Namibia.
