Yesterday, Annapurna Interactive, publisher of, among others, the well-received Stray or Twelve Minutes, reminded everyone of two older gems from its catalog: What Remains of Edith Finch and Outer Wilds, announcing the release of their next-gen editions.
Fans of What Remains of Edith Finch have been able to play on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X consoles since yesterday, and enjoy 4K resolution and animation at 60 frames per second. What's more, those who own the game on PS4 or Xbox One will receive the next-gen upgrade at no cost.. Otherwise, the game can be purchased on PS Store or on Microsoft Store. The games can also be played thanks to the Game Pass subscription.
In turn, for the next-gen release and update for Outer Wildswe will have to wait until September 15, although all that's known so far is that the title will also crank up animation to 60 frames per second and will be free for owners of PS4 or Xbox One editions. In addition, the game's developer, Mobius Digital, has announced that Outer Wilds will also live to see a release on Nintendo Switch. For this we will have to wait longer - the developers have not yet shared any details. Recall that What Remains of Edith Finch received a Switch version two years after the original release.
What Remains of Edith Finch is an original adventure game in which as the last surviving member of the Finch family, we return to our former home to reminisce or meet our lost relatives. A great adventure game offering about 3-4 hours of gameplay, which makes you reflect on the transience of human life. The title has been excellently received, making it currently boast a score of 89/100 on Metacritic service.
Outer Wilds is a one-of-a-kind adventure game about the exploration of space and other planets. As a cosmonaut from the Hearthian race, we set out from our planet to investigate why we are stuck in a time loop resetting the entire universe. Filled with original planets and unusual puzzles, the story focuses on quality rather than momentum in presenting the scale of the cosmos, offering several hours of fun. The title was also warmly received, receiving a score of 85/100 on Metacritic.
