Warhammer 40K Gets Live Action Series About Inquisitor Eisenhorn
Warhammer 40K will see a live action series called Eisenhorn. The main character of the production will be the eponymous inquisitor. The show does not have a target platform yet, and we will probably wait a few years for its premiere.
Warhammer 40K fans have a reason to celebrate. Big Light Productions and Games Workshop have announced that they will create the first official live action series to be set in this universe. The production will be titled Eisenhorn, so the main character should hardly be surprise anyone. That's right, Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn is here to burn the heretic, kill the mutant, and purge the unclean.. We also know a little bit about the plot. As stated in the press release:
While humanity’s armies wage unending war across a million battlefields, in the darkness, a secret conflict rages – fought by the agents of the Imperial Inquisition. [...] Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn and his band of investigators fight to thwart the monstrous schemes of aliens, heretics and daemons before mankind’s doom is sealed.
The series will be created by Frank Spotnitz (The Man from the High Castle, X-Files), who will be the executive producer and showrunner. The production will be an adaptation of the book cycle Eisenhorn by Dan Abnett. The original consists of three items: Xenos, Malleus and Hereticus. So far, the series has not signed a contract with TV or any of the streaming platforms. Discussions on cooperation are about to begin soon. Therefore, we also do not know the date of the premiere of the show, but given the scale of the project and the current stage of work, we would not expect a debut earlier than 3-4 years from now.
