Victoria 3: Voice of the People Announced
The first major expansion for Victoria 3 has been announced. Voice of the People will introduce, among other things, new historical characters to the game, such as John Brown and Giuseppe Mazzini.
Fans of Victoria 3, the long-awaited continuation of one of the strategy game series from Paradox Interactive, released in October, got quite a reason to be happy. Today, the devs announced the first major expansion for the game - a so-called Immersion Pack - titled Voice of the People. The pack will debut next month, on May 22, along with an update numbered 1.3 (free, of course). A short trailer of the DLC is available below.
Voice of the People - agitators and French history
Main course of Voice of the People and update 1.3 will be 60 new historical agitators who were active in the 19th century. Among them will be such figures as American abolitionist John Brown, German socialist Rosa Luxemburg and Italian liberator of nations Giuseppe Mazzini. New characters by implementing changes can either help or hinder the player's plans. It is only up to us who we invite or banish from the country. You can even take in people chased out of other countries and see if their ideas will benefit our society.
In addition thanks to the DLC, we will become better acquainted with the dramatic history of France - from the history of the Bourbon dynasty to the time of the Third French Republic. New events, decisions and diary entries, as well as a special Art Nouveau UI theme, are associated with this feature. There will also be new building graphics, animations and interaction between agitators.
Expansion price and update 1.3
Developers point out that some of the new content associated with this package will hit the hands of all players as part of Update 1.3. Thus agitators will be available to every owner of Victoria 3, but specific new mechanics (such as the ability to banish a character from the country) will be available only to those who have purchased Voice of the People.
This immersion pack will cost around $15 - this is not one of the large expansions that Paradox used to call Expansion Packs and price them at more than $20+ (for example Europa Universalis IV: Domination or Stellaris: Overlord). If you decide to preorder Voice of the People you will receive three additional French historical figures - they will be Georges Clemenceau, Alexis de Tocqueville and Jules Brunet.
Victoria 3: Voice of the People will debut on May 22, exclusively on PC. It is a non-standalone DLC, so it will require the base game to run.
