Vampyr gets a new story trailer – meet Dr Reid, a surgeon turned vampire
If you are waiting for Vampyr, Life is Strange dev's new game, you will be glad to know it's got a new story trailer.
There is a new story trailer for Vampyr, an upcoming action RPG from Life is Strange developer Dontnod Entertainment. Posted on YouTube as an IGN First material, the video introduces Vampyr’s protagonist Jonathan E. Reid – a veteran military surgeon who returns from the front lines of World War I to London. The year is 1918, and the infamous Spanish flu pandemic is decimating the population of Europe. What’s worse, unexpectedly bitten by a vampire, Jonathan becomes a monster himself and has to struggle between his blood-lust and the will to help people. Here’s the aforementioned trailer:
Considering the game’s dark theme, Vampyr will focus on tough moral decisions. Feeding on other people will be necessary in order to survive and make any progress, but choosing whom to kill will need some investigation first. This mechanics, combined with semi-open world and arcade combat, all sound really promising.
Vampyr is one of the most interesting of upcoming games. Let’s hope that Dontnod will manage to repeat the success of Life is Strange, delivering a strong title. Vampyr is due out some time in 2017 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4.
