Valve Makes Major Changes to Its Bestseller List [UPDATE]
Valve has mixed up a lot on Steam's bestseller list with a major change in the methodology for creating these lists.

SteamDB has released a new list of Steam's biggest bestsellers (by revenue). It covers the period Feb. 21, 2023 - Feb. 28, 2023. The list omits free-to-play games.

A list of the biggest (by revenue) hits of the past week on Steam has been released. This time it significantly deviates from what we are used to, as Valve has changed the operation of the database from which these lists are taken by services like SteamDB. Previously, only paid games were listed there. In contrast, now they have also started to take into account free-to-play games..
We are curious to know whether this change extends only to the database, or whether Valve itself will stop separating free-to-play games with microtransactions into a separate category in its summaries of the biggest bestsellers of the month.

As can be seen here, Hogwarts Legacy continues to sell like hot cakes. A good debut, despite many technical problems, was also recorded by Wild Hearts.
A change in the way the list is compiled meant that it was dominated by free-to-play games such as Apex Legends, PUBG: Battlegrounds, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel or Destiny 2.
SteamDB asked its readers how the service should respond to this change. After consulting with them, it was decided that the service's website will add the option to filter out free-to-play games, so as to get a list in the style of those published so far.
