Valheim Performance Increased With Vulkan. World-destroying Bug Removed
Patch 0.146.8 for Valheim has been released. It fixes bugs, strengthens bosses and adds support for Vulkan API.
- Removed bug that corrupted world data when closing the game with ALT+F4;
- Increased server stability;
- Buff for some bosses;
- Vulkan API support added.
Valheim received a new update . The patch is number 0.146.8 and brings a lot of expected fixes and changes that should make the game more enjoyable.
First of all, the update will significantly reduce the server connection problems that many players have complained about. Support for Vulkan technology has also been added. Use of this API may reduce number of game freezes on some graphics cards.
Some players report that using Vulkan brings large, even doubled performance increases. Others see no difference at all. In any case, it is worth checking how the game will work with this API on your PC.
The devs also fixed a bug that sometimes caused the virtual world to break if you left the game by closing it with ALT+F4. Such problems did not happen often, but the consequences were so serious that the authors recommended manual backup of files containing world and character data.
The developers also noticed that many players were defeating bosses too quickly. Therefore, all but the first two have been buffed. Thanks to this Bonemass, Moder and Yagluth have gained more health and can use some special attacks more often. The update also brings fixes for many minor technical issues. For example, in order to make the player's position visible to everyone on the map, it is necessary to check the appropriate option. Before the patch, the game was unable to remember this setting, so you had to turn it on every time you launched it. Now it is no longer necessary.
The changes are so serious that if we load and save the character in the game with the latest patch, then it will no longer be possible to load it in the earlier version of Valheim.
Recall that the game debuted on February 2 in Steam's Early Access. The title turned out to be the first big hit of this year. Yesterday we wrote that the sales of Valheim has already exceeded 4 million copies.
