Unreal Tournament Just Received a Massive Upgrade

Unreal Tournament has received a giant fan-made update. Hundreds of fixes and improvements to the game are waiting for active players.

Unreal Tournament from 1999 received a new update.
IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Unreal Tournament received a major update after 21 years.
  2. It was prepared by Unreal Tournament Preservation Group, the current manager of the game's source code.

Unreal Tournament received a new update 20 years after launch. The preparation of patch 469 was entrusted to the fan community around the OldUnreal forum. More than a year ago, Epic Games made an agreement with them and officially allowed them to manage Unreal Tournament's source code.

Update 469 was announced in September 2019, so those who still play the original Unreal Tournament had to wait for it for a while. However, it was worth it. Hundreds of various improvements were introduced to the game. A glance at the list of changes shows the interface adjustment for high resolution, better network code, fixes in game's stability and sound engine operation. The editor has been improved, scripts have been updated and the mouse is better supported. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

You can download the update from the project's website on GitHub. Both installers and packed archives for Windows, Linux and MacOS are available.
