Unavowed is Wadjet Eye's next adventure game
Wadjet Eye Games, the studio that gave us Shardlight and Blackwell series, announced Unavowed. This will be a dark-themed, supernatural adventure game with branching storyline.
Fans of oldschool point-and-click adventure games just got another title to keep an eye on. Wadjet Eye Games, the developer of the recently released Shardlight as well as the Blackwell series, announced their new project to be a dark, supernatural thriller called Unavowed. This time the player will assume the role of a person who had been possessed by a demon for six months until a secret society known as the Unavowed released them. Unfortunately, you cannot go back to your former life: you have no home, no friends, and you are wanted by the police. Having little choice, you join the Unavowed to fight evil forces.
Interestingly, Unavowed will give you more freedom in shaping the story than traditional adventure games. The title will feature branching storyline, and will let you select between a male and female protagonist, pick one of three origin stories, and choose from five companion characters, each with their own abilities. Wadjet Eye are also going to prepare full voice acting and original soundtrack, as well as double the resolution, compared with their typical games.
Unavowed will be written by the studio’s founder, Dave Gilbert, with some help from Jennifer Hepler, a former Dragon Age writer. The game is coming out on PC in 2017. Here are some screenshots:
