Uboat Prepares to Leave Early Access
PlayWay's CEO has poiformed that in the next six months we will see the release of the full version of UBOAT, the submarine simulator game that has been in early access development for several years now.
Everything indicates that soon we will see the release of version 1.0 of UBOAT, a submarine simulator created by the Polish team at Deep Water Studio.
This information was revealed to us by Krzysztof Kostowski - the president of PlayWay, the game's publisher. He revealed that the project's development is on the final stretch and should leave early access within the next six months.
The release of version 1.0 will be the culmination of six long years of work. Recall that UBOAT was announced in 2016, and three years later the project debuted in Steam's Early Access.
This year, before leaving Early Access, the game will receive two updates. These will bring, among other things, improvements to the controls, cities with historical locations and streets filled with cars, and improvements to the campaign. After the release of version 1.0, the game will be further developed.
As far as PlayWay is concerned, most of the industry media attention is absorbed by big hits such as House Flipper, Thief Simulator or Car Mechanic Simulator series.. UBOAT turned out to be a successful game, warmly received on the market:
- According to the estimates of the paid version of SteamSpy, UBOAT has 322,000 players.
- On Steam, 80% of all user reviews praise the title, which is categorized as a "very positive" reception.
- Moreover, the reception of UBOAT is improving all the time, as among the reviews from the last thirty days alone, 86% are positive.
Worse is the case with activity results. Last weekend's record was just under 700 people playing simultaneously. This is not a low number considering the niche nature of the game, but we are curious to see how the popularity will increase after the release of version 1.0.
Let us remind you at the end that UBOAT is available only on PC, but the devs also plan a Nintendo Switch port.
