Another company has decided to raise the price of its biggest games. It is Ubisoft, which has announced that its AAA titles will be sold for $70.

  1. The first game to launch at this price is expected to be Skull and Bones, which will be released on November 8, this year.
  2. It should be noted that the price tag of Ubisoft's games applies only to the publisher's largest productions. The company still intends to release cheaper items.
  3. For example, next year's Assassin's Creed: Mirage is expected to provide approx. 15-20 hours of fun and therefore will launch at a price of $49.99 on PC

Ubisoft is not the first publisher to decide to raise the prices of its games. The trend was started by Take-Two Interactive - in 2020 NBA 2K21's price rose to $69.99. This decision was met with negative reaction from the players, but this did not prevent the game from achieving great success. Once blazed, the trail was quickly followed by imitators - prices were later raised by Sony, Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard and Square Enix.

Initially, such a price hike was extended only to next-gen console releases. However, this is also changing. Square Enix has begun to do so on PC as well. The publisher has taken a beating from gamers after the prices of the PC editions of Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Forspoken were set at $69.99. However, this did not result in a change of decision. So, unfortunately, we can expect that sooner or later $70 will also become the standard on PC. For example, that's how much you have to pay for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, while Call of Duty: Vanguard and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War launched on PCs priced at $60.
