Ubisoft parts ways with Might & Magic: Heroes VII developer
Limbic Entertainment gave us Might & Magic X: Legacy as well as Might & Magic: Heroes VII and the Trial by Fire expansion pack. Now Ubisoft have decided to part ways with the developer and hand over the series to another studio.
Might & Magic: Heroes VII and the Trial by Fire expansion pack are the last games in the famous series of turn-based fantasy strategies developed by Limbic Entertainment, Ubisoft has informed fans on the official website. The partnership between the French publisher and German studio has come to an end, which means that no further updates will be coming for Might & Magic: Heroes VII. While the support for the game is over, the forums will stay open, so that players can help each other out and share their creations.
No reasons were stated for the discontinuation of the collaboration. We’d just like to remind you that both Might & Magic: Heroes VII (2015) and Limbic’s previous title Might & Magic X: Legacy (2014) were decent games at best (with Metascore at 67 and 71, respectively), which may not be necessarily bad, but the fans of this cult series understandably expect more than “decent”. Ubisoft has not revealed which developer will now take over the development of new installments in the Might & Magic series, neither do we know what Limbic Entertainment is up to next.
