Twin Peaks-inspired interactive thriller Virginia gets a new trailer
Virginia - an interactive thriller inspired by the cult TV show Twin Peaks - has just got a new trailer. The video gives a taste of the game's unique art style and music.
About two weeks ago we passed you the news about Virginia, a first-person, Twin Peaks-inspired interactive thriller launching later this month – namely on September 22 – on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. If for some reason you failed to check out the game’s demo available on Steam (for the lack of time, perhaps), maybe you’ll at least take a look at the newly released atmospheric trailer. The video shows off the game’s unique art style and mysterious story.
Virginia is set in small town America setting, in a secluded town called Kingdom, whose uneventful everyday life gets shaken by the disappearance of a boy. The game lets you conduct the investigation through the eyes of a young female FBI agent named Anne Tarver. The woman soon discovers that talking to people unaccustomed to an outside scrutiny is tougher than it seemed and the whole case has a hidden agenda. While its story is told using a TV show formula, Virginia features minimalistic gameplay based on decision making. Interestingly, the game is mostly silent – no recorded dialogues, only musical score, composed by Lyndona Holland (Mullholland Drive).
