Trine 4 Devs Not Signing in on Epic Deal

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince will not become an Epic Games Store exclusive. The developers' decision has appeared on Steam. The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in autumn, this year.

Exclusivity at the Epic Games Store is one of the hottest industry topics of the first half of this year. Many are wondering what game will join Metro Exodus and say no to the current overlord of the digital distribution market. If you were afraid that Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince would face such a fate, you can rest assured. One of the employees of Frozenbyte informed that their PC version of their upcoming production will not be sold exclusively on any digital distribution platform.

Trine 4 will not be limited to a single digital distribution platform.

This message appeared in one of the discussions on Steam. To quote a representative from Frozenbyte in response to the question when Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince will become a temporary Epic Games Store exclusive:

Poor Epic, they get a lot of hate nowadays!

But don't worry, we have no plans for this. We hope to support other digital retailers as well, but at this point we can only promise that the game will be sold on Steam. :)

This statement was met with considerable enthusiasm on the part of the players. And not only due to the fact that not everyone likes the way Epic tries to carve out a piece of digital distribution cake for itself. Recently there has been information that its platform lacks even the simplest forms of account security, which may be the source of considerable problems in the future.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince will debut this autumn. The next part of the popular 2.5D arcade series is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Three days ago we wrote about the first trailer, details about the story and the minimum hardware requirements of the title. You can read it here.
