Total War: Warhammer 3 Developers' Making Up for DLC Flop With Content
Creative Assembly will soon try to win over fans disappointed with the modest content of the Total War: Warhammer 3 - Shadows of Change add-on.
On February 22, Total War: Warhammer 3 will get the highly anticipated update 4.2. Creative Assembly confirmed the release date of the patch, which is intended to be a kind of compensation for fans for the poor launch of the Shadows of Change expansion.
Last week, the creators published three articles discussing the new features that will be added to TW: Warhammer 3 with the release of the update. In the latest one, it was confirmed that patch 4.2 will be released next Thursday.
Just a reminder: the new update is a result of players complaining about the lackluster content in the latest DLC at launch. The patch won't add everything the players were hoping for, but fans still appreciated the developers' announcement. Patch 4.2 will introduce, among others:
- 6 units (16 total throughout Shadows of Change );
- 2 lords and legendary heroes each (instead of 1);
- new so-called. FreeLC (content available to all Warhammer 3 players, even those without purchased expansion);
- new type of magic (Lore of the Hags).
There's no denying that the patch greatly enriches the latest expansion and players are welcoming the new content with open arms. However, some fans bitterly comment that the graphic comparison posted by the creators only highlights how poor Shadows of Change looked. This wouldn't be a problem if the DLC cost much less than SEGA priced it.
Some players would still prefer Creative Assembly to stick with smaller additions. Now, players are somewhat forced to purchase the entire content, even if they are only interested in additions to one race or faction.
Despite this, it seems that TW: Warhammer 3 fans appreciated the developer's efforts. Now, CA must ensure not to disappoint their trust again.
The full list of changes in update 4.2 to Total War: Warhamer III will be available when it is released on February 22.
