New F2P Torchlight is Coming; Will Face Off Against Diablo Immortal
Open beta tests of Torchlight Infinite will begin this October. The title will be available not only on mobile platforms, but also on PC.
Earlier this year, sign-ups for the closed beta of the free-to-play game Torchlight Infinite from studio XD, the new mobile installment of the popular action RPG series, have begun. Now the developers have announced that the game will also be coming to PC. All interested will be able to try out the title during October's open beta. If you want to pre-register for them, you can do so here. However, it should be borne in mind that it has not yet been specified how Torchlight Infinite will be distributed on PC.
On the occasion of the announcement of the upcoming beta tests, a new trailer has been published. It presents some gameplay footage from the PC and mobile versions of the game. You can watch the whole thing below.
It is easy to see here that the Torchlight series follows very similar path as Diablo. After three major installments, it's time for a mobile game (although the former franchise tried conquer smartphones and tablets - unsuccessfully - before Blizzard turned its attention to these platforms). Thus we will have to deal with two F2P hack'n'slash games for iOS and Android (and PC).
Like the previous installments of the series, Torchlight Infinite is to be a dynamic action RPG set in the land of Leptis. Initially, we will get the opportunity to play as six characters, and each of them will have three unique traits. In addition, the developers are also preparing more than 230 skills. Additionally, the title is also to be regularly developed and expanded with additional content, including more characters.
