Titanfall 2 will offer a single player campaign and probably a TV series
Titanfall 2 is officially getting a single player campaign. The sequel will focus more on story and may even be accompanied by a TV series.
Titanfall 2 is getting a single player campaign. The news was revealed by Jesse Stern, the project’s lead writer in an interview with Forbes. Although initially Respawn Entertainment lacked the resources to make that possible, Electronic Arts decided to invest some extra money into a solo mode after the first Titanfall sold in 10 million copies. The campaing will tell an original story described as ‘the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space’. Stern told Forbes:
“What inspires us is the junction of technological advancement with the inevitability of conflict and war and what the next war might look like. In Titanfall 2 there will be a lot of [scenes] where science meets magic, but keeping it grounded and dirty and human and real.”
Besides, it is possible that the sequel will be accompanied by a spin-off TV series. Respawn Entertainment is having a negotiation with Lionsgate TV, although the project is still up in the air. The biggest issue with it is the money – a full-fledged series would be very expensive. One of the options in consideration is animated TV series.
Titanfall 2 has been in development for nearly a year, and is said to launch in the end of fiscal 2017, that ends on March 31, 2017. According to Stern the game will be out simultaneously on all platforms, which most probably means PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
