THQ Nordic Has 96 Games in Production
Embracer Group (formerly known as THQ Nordic) is working hard to expand its publishing portfolio. The financial report for the last quarter of last year shows that the studios belonging to the Swedish company are currently working on 96 games, of which only 52 have been announced.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Embracer Group currently has 26 development teams working on 96 projects, less than half of which have not been announced.
- 4A Games and Coffee Stain are working on unannounced projects.
- The last title announced by THQ Nordic is Gothic Remake.
Embracer Group (formerly THQ Nordic) is a holding group of game developers. For the last four years it has been intensively buying dev studios and rights to various IPs. The companies bought out by the Swedish company include Koch Media, Warhorse Studios and Bugbear Entertainment. Their latest acquisition is Saber Interactive, known mainly from World War Z and The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch. The financial report published by the company shows that it currently has 26 teams working on 96 titles, of which only 52 have been disclosed.
In addition to the report, a presentation was also released, which includes, among other things, upcoming releases by teams that are responsible for them. It reveals that 4A Games, Warhorse and Coffee Stain are working on unannounced titles.
It is worth mentioning that the IPs owned by the Embracer Group include Gothic. Two days ago, it was announced that the remake of the first installment of the series is being made and will be released on next-gen consoles and PC. THQ Nordic Barcelona Studio is responsible for its production.
