Expanded Edition of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 in March on PS5 and XSX; Switch Later On
Activision announced the arrival of new versions of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2. The game will receive a revised port to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles next month, and a little later it will also hit Nintendo Switch.
Record-breaking Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 debuted in early September 2020. At that time, the game appeared on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, as well as PCs. Of course, the title will also run on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, although owners of the new consoles could not so far count on, for example, improved graphics that would make full us of the consoles' power. Activison decided to change that and announced a new, dedicated PS5 and XSX/S version of the game, which will be released on March 26. At a yet unspecified time, the game will also hit the Nintendo Switch.
The next-gen port of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 will offer a number of major and minor visual improvements. We will play both in native 4K resolution in 60 fps, as well as, which is very rare on consoles, in 120 FPS in 1080p. On Xbox Series S, the game will run in 60 fps in 1440p resolution. Developers announce that fans can also expect much better and more dynamic shadows, reflections and sharper textures.
For those who have already purchased Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, it is planned to offer updates to next-gen version. Unfortunately, Activision won't make it easy, as the process varies depending on the game's edition.
Owners of the digital version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 will pay $10 for the upgrade. However, this price does not apply to owners of the Deluxe digital edition of the game, these people will download the patch completely for free. At no additional cost, the next-gen update will be downloaded by owners of the boxed version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 on the PS4. Oddly enough, however, a similar privilege will not be available to owners of physical edition on Xbox One.
The next-gen port of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 2 will use our previous saved game states without a problem. In the case of Xbox One, the title will automatically sync all the data, while on PlayStation 5 we'll have to manually download saves from the cloud, using the appropriate option in the game's menu.
