This Anime Will Be Worth Waiting For. Gachiakuta Is Set to Be Adapted by Studio Behind My Hero Academia
A new anime in the shonen genre has been announced. Gachiakuta will be adapted by the studio behind My Hero Academia and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
The biggest shonen series are heading towards their conclusion. Approaching the finals are, for instance, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, and One Piece, thereby making room for a new generation of heroes from this genre. One of the significant titles among the new shonen is Gachiakuta by Kei Urany, published since 2022. The author of this manga previously worked as an assistant to Atsushi Ookubo during the creation of Fire Force and was named by the mangaka as his successor.
Urana was a fan of Ookubo's Soul Eater, and her works clearly show the influence of this creator. You can verify this in Gachiakuta, if you haven't read this manga yet, which is worth noting. Especially now, with the announcement of an anime being created based on it.
It will be produced by Bones studio, which can boast many brilliant anime in its portfolio: My Hero Academia, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Soul Eater, and Darker than Black. So there's no need to be concerned about the animation quality in the upcoming 2025 anime Gachiakuta. You can watch the first preview of the show below.
In Gachiakuta, we will learn the story of Rudo, who lives in the slums of a floating city where the poor live in the shadow of the rich. The wealthy lead lavish lives, not worrying about wastefulness. They dispose of anything they consider unnecessary, including people, into the Abyss, a bottomless dumping ground and a place of execution. Such fate also befell Rudo, who was unjustly accused of murder and cast into the Abyss. The boy miraculously survived the fall, saved by a mysterious man. Now, motivated by a need for payback against those responsible for his downfall, and a longing to transform this world, Rudo must harness a newly uncovered power and join a faction called the Cleaners, who battle colossal creatures from the depths.
We can rest assured that something truly excellent will be created, knowing that the production is being handled by Bones studio. After all, it has a lot of experience with Shonen, so it remains to wait until 2025 for the premiere of the Gachiakuta anime.
