There's a Good Chance For PC Edition of Death Stranding
Antonio Fucito, the Italian gaming journalist who recently revealed Death Stranding's launch date, informed in a stream that the production would soon be available on PCs. The information has not been confirmed by the developer.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- Death Stranding will be released first on PS4 and then on PC;
- It's unknown how long the exclusivity period will last;
- The game will not be released on Xbox One;
- The information is unconfirmed, but seems credible.
Antonio Fucito, the Italian journalist who first revealed the release date of Death Stranding, said during a Twitch stream that the title would also appear on PC. You will find his statement below (English translation prepared by the users of ResetEra).
" (...) the PS4 cover didn't have the "Only on PS" label because DS it's coming to PC at a later date, that's the deal signed between Kojima and Sony, the game will be a timed PS4 exclusive and will be available on PC later on (won't be available on Xbox), i don't know if it's a 6 or 12 months exclusive."
The reports should be treated as rumors, but it is worth recalling that they coincide with certain information from 2015. What's more, the cover of Hideo Kojima's game doesn't really have the characteristic label "Only on PlayStation", which is visible on the box of last year's God of War. There is no denying that Antonio Fucito managed to predict the date of Death Stranding's launch... and his Twitter account is decorated with a photo with the famous Japanese developer.
Temporary exclusivity would not be strange in the case of Sony. While most exclusive PlayStation 4 titles are only available on this console, some are also available on PC. Examples include the action adventure game Nioh from Team Ninja (incidentally, the cover - in its final version - does not have the "Only on PlayStation" label, although it was initially present in promo materials), as well as independent productions such as Journey or Flower. Recently, two works by Quantic Dream, Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, have also been added to the list.
