The Witcher With Better CGI Thanks to Pros From Vikings and Stranger Things
The producers of The Witcher have been working hard to make the special effects look a little better in season 2. Therefore, they established cooperation with even more CGI experts.
Netflix's The Witcher is back on the set, and the creators are already preparing for the post-production process. A number of acclaimed special effects studios will be helping them on the editing table, and two more renowned companies in the field have recently partnered with them (via Redanian Intelligence).
It's worth noting, for example, that the people responsible for the famous Vikings will help with the CGI implementation, the show being quite similar to The Witcher in some places - especially when it comes to extensive battle scenes or typical medieval combat with swords, shields and armor. Netflix will also be supported by Rodeo FX, the true professionals responsible for all the darkness and magic presented in Stranger Things. Their forte is mainly environmental CGI (the characteristic red sky in the series), as you can see below:
At this point we can list 9 CGI studios that will work to improve the visuals of The Witcher season 2. In addition to the aforementioned companies they are Platige Image (The Lure), Industrial Light & Magic (The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle), Cinesite (Dark), One of Us (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Nviz (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Clear Angle Studio (Avengers: Endgame) and The Third Floor (WandaVision).
