The Witcher 2 is 12 Years Old; CDP Celebrates With Atmospheric Artwork
The second installment of the adventures of Geralt of Rivia is celebrating its twelfth birthday. On this occasion, the developers have prepared a phenomenal artwork, referring to the White Wolf's adventures in Temeria.
Equally 12 years ago, the game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings made its world debut. The anniversary was recalled on the official Twitter account of CD Projekt.
On this occasion, the creators of The Witcher shared a phenomenal artwork, referring to Geralt's struggles in the Temerian lands (below).
At the same time, the developers initiated a discussion, asking the players to share their best memories of the second installment of the game series starring Poland's most popular monster hunter.
Interestingly, some of the people who were involved in the second installment of The Witcher, are still working at CD Projekt RED, which is responsible for this game. Among them is Marcin Momot, currently the company's global community director.
"The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings turns 12 years old today! This game means so much to me as it was the first title I worked on at CDPROJEKTRED," Momot wrote on Twitter.
It is worth recalling that the second installment of The Witcher turned out to be quite a success. The game was very well received by reviewers, receiving an average rating of 88/100 on Metacritic (on PC), and has sold many million copies.
The game's results become even more impressive if we take into account that the second part of the White Wolf's adventures was never released on PlayStation consoles.
