The Settlers Delayed; New Release Date Unknown
Publisher Ubisoft and developer Blue Byte informed that The Settlers - the next installment of the famous strategy game cycle, which was to hit the PCs this year - will not appear on schedule. The new release date was not provided.
IN A NUTSHELL:
- The release of the next part of The Settlers was postponed;
- No new release schedule was given - the devs will inform about it at a later date.
Ubisoft informed that The Settlers - another installment of the popular strategy game cycle, developed by Blue Byte - will not appear on schedule. The game was announced two years ago and was to hit the market this year (it was originally planned to be released in autumn 2019, but in August last year it suffered the first delay). The developers said they needed more time to refine their work. Unfortunately, the new release date is unknown.
"Since quality is our main priority, we want to take the time necessary to make it right. Therefore, we had to make the difficult decision to postpone the release of the game until further notice. The additional time will be used to address your feedback and deliver the best “The Settlers” game possible. While we cannot provide a new release date yet, rest assured we will keep you updated via The Settlers Alliance and our other channels as soon as we can give you further information."
The situation is a bit worrying - after all, this is the second postponement, and this time we don't even know how much time the creator needs. However, it is worth remembering that this year is quite special and the situation related to the coronavirus pandemic has forced many companies to change their plans. It remains to be hoped that the developers will conquer all the challenges and the game will turn out to be a successful installment.
The Settlers is coming exclusively to PCs. The game is supposed to offer a gameplay that will appeal to long-standing fans of the series, but the creators want to enrich the well-known formula with new solutions and ideas - we are talking about food mechanics, among others. The game will offer single-player mode and online co-op.
