The Medium Finally Supports Ultrawide Monitors
Patch 1.2 for the horror game The Medium has been released. The update added support for ultrawide monitors and improved the game's technical condition.
- Support for ultra-wide screens (21:9 and 32:9);
- Bug fixes;
- Fixes for issues related to multi-screen gaming and changing audio devices;
- Minor performance improvements.
Polish studio Bloober Team released another update for the horror game The Medium. The patch is numbered 1.2 and thanks to it, the game finally received support for ultra-wide monitors with aspect ratio of 21:9 and 32:9.
Adding such a feature is a pleasant surprise, as the creators announced lack of such solution before the launch, explaining that its implementation would be difficult due to the unique features of the camera system in the game. As you can see, however, eventually Bloober Team decided to make the effort, as many players asked for it. Earlier, the fans somehow managed with mods, but it's gratifying that now they have access to an official solution.
Patch 1.2 also brings other improvements. Issues with changing resolution on multi-monitor setups have been fixed, as well as bugs that occur when changing audio devices. Small technical glitches have also been fixed, and performance improvements have been made, though they are minor, so we shouldn't expect a big change in framerate on our PC.
The Medium launched on January 28, this year. The game was released only on PC and Xbox Series X/S but it is also available in Xbox Game Pass, both on consoles and PC.
The game met with quite a warm reception. The PC version has an average rating of 76% on Metacritic. The console edition fares a little worse, achieving 71%. The Medium was a bit less appreciated by our editor, who gave it 6/10 score. Not only the trade media liked the latest work of Bloober Team. The Polish horror game also appealed to the gamers. On Steam, 88% of user reviews are positive, and the sales are so good that the game broke even the day after launch.
