Neil Druckmann May Direct Some Episodes of The Last of Us TV
Neil Druckmann may direct an episode (or episodes) of The Last of Us TV series. The creative director at Naughty Dog would be one of five people responsible for the screen adaptation.
Work on The Last of Us TV series is reportedly gaining momentum, although so far only the first episode has been completed. It is the work of Kantemir Balagov, but he's not the only one responsible for this high-budget screen adaptation. The website of Directors Guild of Canada revealed other people behind The Last of Us TV series (via IGN). Five directors are overseeing production of the first season, including Neil Druckmann, creative director and one of the presidents of Naughty Dog, the devs of the original duology.
Druckmann's involvement with the series is no surprise - after all, it was his studio that created the entire franchise. What's more, it has been known for almost a year that he serves as an executive producer on the project. However, we would like to point out that the information about his role as the series' director is unofficial and so far we have not received any official confirmation.
In addition to these two people, The Last of Us adaptation is being directed by Craig Mazin and (as has been known for months) Jasmila Zbanic and Peter Hoar. However, we don't know how many episodes they or Druckmann are to be responsible for, or even exactly how many episodes the first of - if unofficial reports are to be believed - up to eight seasons will include. We don't even know the full cast: for now, we learned who will play Joel, his daughter and brother, and Marlene.
