The Last of Us 2 With Record Number of NAVGTR Nominations

After winning major awards at The Game Awards and the Golden Joystick, The Last of Us: Part II restablishes its dominance. Naughty Dog has received a record number of nominations in the NAVGTR poll.

January is summary time, which in the game industry means, among other things, identifying the best game of the previous year. In this respect, The Last of Us: Part II turned out to be unrivalled - the results of this year's editions of The Game Awards and Golden Joystick as well as Metacritic's toplists speak for themselves. The National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers, a non-profit organization with 1.2 thousand voters and 12 thousand subscribers, can also be added to the list of accolades. During the 20th edition of NAVGTR, the second installment of The Last of Us received a record number of 24 nominations, ahead of Ghost of Tsushima (21) and Spider-Man: Miles Morales (20).

As you can easily guess, Naughty Dog's latest work fights for Game of the Year title, among others, competing against six other games, including the aforementioned Ghost of Tsushima and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The NAVGTR award may not be as prestigious as the TGA gala, but it would be further validation of the game's success, despite some controversy following its release last year.
