The Last of Us 2 With Multiplayer Mode? New Clues Discovered
Three armor models were found in The Last of Us 2 files. This could be the seed of an upcoming multiplayer mode.
Three armor models for Ellie were found in the game files of The Last of Us: Part 2. You can see what they look like in the following video provided by dataminer Speclizer on YouTube.

As the author of the video supposes, the discovered armor models could have served as so-called placeholders during the initial work on the multiplayer mode for The Last of Us: Part II.
In addition to the three armors, Speclizer also found the files of six backpacks, which unfortunately he didn't manage to show in the game. The names of these files are assault, melee, sniper, stealth, support, and tactical - which immediately brings to mind online gameplay. Dataminer said that if he finds a way to show their appearance, he will present them in the next video.
Earlier in the video, Dataminer managed to unearth a huge multiplayer map that proved that Naughty Dog could be working on a battle royale mode.
For now all we know - following well-known insider Tom Henderson - is that work on the multiplayer mode (or online spin-off) for The Last of Us 2 is proceeding. However, we have no news on a potential release date. We also haven't gotten any official information from the devs about it.
