The Devastated World of The Last of Us 2 on New Concept Arts
New concept graphics from The Last of Us: Part II, the sequel to the popular 2013 action game from Naughty Dog, have appeared online. The title will debut on May 29, 2019 on PlayStation 4 only.
One of the biggest advantages of the first The Last of Us was a very suggestive presentation of the world after the apocalypse, both in terms of its social structure and its ruined environment with abandoned cars and destroyed buildings. The approaching continuation of Naughty Dog's work will explore the atmosphere even further. You can see this in the new concept arts that have recently appeared on the web.
We would like to remind that The Last of Us: Part II will take place five years after the events of the previous part, i.e. a quarter of a century after the outbreak of the parasitic Cordyceps fungus. The pictures show how man-made structures are becoming more and more absorbed by the nature, thus creating an extraordinary landscape. There will be many more such interesting landscapes in the game.
The graphics are the result of a collaboration between Naughty Dog and Cook & Becker, a Dutch studio specializing in video game based art works (via The Verge). On their website we will see drawings from such titles as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Cyberpunk 2077, the latest God of War, Persona 5, Journey or Final Fantasy XV. There is also an option to purchase them. Both albums and single graphics, which can be hung on the wall are available.
After a slight delay, The Last of Us: Part II will debut exclusively on PlayStation 4 on May 29, 2020. If you are interested in how the game presents itself in action, we invite you to watch gameplays with the commentary of the creators. Here you will find detailed impressions from the September presentation. Watch out for potential spoilers, though.
