The Batman Movie Gets First Trailer
During the DC FanDome the first trailer of The Batman was shown. The trailer enables us to see how Robert Pattinson presents himself in the title role, as well as the atmosphere of Matt Reeves' work.
The online event FanDome turned out to be a real feast for DC Comics fans. Among the attractions prepared by Warner Bros. Entertainment was the premiere the first trailer of The Batman, a movie by Matt Reeves, in which the title character will be played by Robert Pattinson.
The trailer gives a good idea of the direction taken by Reeves. The whole thing evokes associations with Batman: Arkham Origins. In both cases, the action takes place in the second year of the title superhero's activity, when he is still full of anger and makes mistakes.
The online panel on DC FanDome also revealed a lot of new details about the film. First of all, it was confirmed that The Batman is set in a different, separate reality than Aquaman or Wonder Woman, which is at the same time one of the dimensions of the DC FanDome. This will enable the filmmakers to build their version of Gotham and The Dark Knight in peace, without looking at how their creation could affect other productions.
In The Batman, the title superhero is frustrated because his crusade against crime is not working. The plot will revolve around a series of murders connected with the history of Gotham and the Wayne family. In the film, Selina Kyle still hasn't become Catwoman, the Penguin hates his nickname, and Riddler is just beginning his career as a super villain.
When the work was suspended at the end of March because of the coronavirus pandemic, the filming was 25-30% complete, which is worthwhile to bear in mind when watching the trailer. The production is to resume at the beginning of September and the film's premiere is scheduled for next year.
Matt Reeves also confirmed that the associated HBO Max series about Gotham's law enforcement officers will show their actions in Batman's first year of activity, thus being a prequel to cinema production.
