Terraria Patch 'Labor of Love' Brings Improvements to Inventory
The developers of Terraria have announced that an upcoming update for the game, numbered 1.4.4, will significantly improve the use of inventory. The patch is expected to debut later this year.
Early this year Terraria received the "Labor of Love" award from Steam players, for being a game that is still supported by its developers despite its age. In gratitude for this award, the team at Re-Logic promised to release one more, final update to the game (although theoretically the patch published in October 2020 was supposed to be the last update).
Changes announced so far
The patch was marked with the number 1.4.4 and the same title as the English name of the category in which Terraria won, i.e. Labor of Love. It will introduce a number of new features that will make the game more enjoyable to play. Let's take a brief look at those already announced.
- Changes to the gameplay balance, making weapons such as Dark Lance, Frostbrand, Flairon, Scourge of Corrupter and Star Wrath more useful. Furthermore, Defender Medal type items will be cheaper by about 33-40%.
- Quests performed for Angler will yield additional rewards. The more quests we complete for him, the more likely we are to receive extra items.
- Plantera's Bulb will automatically appear after defeating three mechanical bosses.
- Bast Statues can be found not only in chests. They will also randomly appear in houses located in the Underground Desert biome.
- In the Old One's Army event players will no longer have to wait idly for the next wave of enemies to attacks. If they right-click on the Crystal Stand, the next offensive will begin immediately.
- Buffs from items such as the Sharpening Station, Crystal Ball, Ammo Box, and Bewitching Table will not be time limited and will remain active until the character dies.
- The devs added the item called Resplendent Dessert, enabling us to summon two pets simultaneously.
Improvements to inventory
Of course, that's not all. In the last announcement Re-Logic team informed that the upcoming update will also feature significant improvements in the use of inventory. Quoting the words of the creators, posted on Steam:
"Simply put, we're increasing the inventory stack size of almost all possible items in the game to 9999. Note, however, that there will be some exceptions, but only about 10-15 of them, which had to be kept unchanged for mechanical reasons."
More elements that will appear in updated 1.4.4 for Terraria are expected to be announced at a later date. The patch should debut later this year, but the exact date is unknown.
