- The first trailer of Tales From the Loop from Amazon appeared online.
- The production will debut on Amazon Prime Video on April 3, this year.
- The production will feature Jonathan Pryce, Rebecca Hall and Paul Schneider, among others.
Tales From the Loop was created by Nathaniel Halpern, a screenwriter who worked on the The Killing and Legion. The production was inspired by unusual paintings by the Swedish artist Simon Stalenhagen, who present an interesting vision of the countryside, resembling the 1980s, but full of futuristic constructions and robots. They have also become the base for a tabletop RPG system, also called Tales From the Loop. It debuted in 2017 and is quite popular worldwide.
The plot of Tales From the Loop is shrouded in mystery for now. Here's what we know about it based on the description of the trailer:
"Tales From the Loop explores the mind-bending adventures of the people who live above the Loop, a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe – making things previously relegated to science fiction, possible."
In addition, the whole thing is to strongly focus on the emotions of the characters and draw on the tradition of the genre (via JoBlo.com). Stranger Things lovers should therefore feel at home in Amazon's new series.
Amazon's Tales From the Loop will feature, among others, Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes, first three parts of Pirates of the Caribbean), Rebecca Hall (Vicky Cristina Barcelona, The Prestige) and Paul Schneider (Lars and the Real Girl, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford). Apart from Halpern, the series was produced by Matt Reeves (creator of the upcoming Batman movie), Mark Romanek (Never Let Me Go, One Hour Photo) and Simon Stalenhag himself, who prepared the posters for the production.
