System Shock Remake in New Gameplay Trailer
Seven minutes of gameplay footage can hardly be considered a teaser trailer, but that's exactly how the creators of System Shock described the newly released footage from the upcoming remake.
Nightdive Studios released new gameplay footage from the refreshed System Shock. This time the devs focused on presenting the second level - Research. In total, we received seven minutes of previously unshown game footage - quite a lot as for a nominal teaser trailer. You can watch it below.
Unfortunately, the developers still haven't seen it fit to pinpoint the release date. The game's pages in digital stores still mention only launch this summer. This leaves the developers less than 3 months to release the game, not even talking about announcing a specific date. Since February, PC players can check out the next and last demo of System Shock before the release of the full version, but since then virtually no new details have been shared.
The remake is supposed to retain the atmosphere known from the original, but Nightdive refreshed both the audiovisuals and gameplay (among others through an improved balance of enemies and weapons and a handful of improvements in mechanics). Let's hope that we'll be able to see the significance of these changes before the end of the holidays.
