New Demo of System Shock Remake Now Available on Steam
A newdemo of the remake of System Shock, the iconic immersive sim from the 90s, has been released on Steam.
- Developer: Nightdive Studios
- Publisher: Prime Matter
- Genre: immersive sim
- Platforms: PC, XONE, XSX, PS4, PS5
Nightdive released a new demo of System Shock, a remake of the classic 1994 production. The demo version can be downloaded from Steam, weighing in at 3.43 GB.
At the same time, the team at Nightdive announced that they have found a publisher for the project. It is Prime Matter Group, a division of Koch Media.
This collaboration will enable Nightdive to release the game simultaneously on all target platforms, namely PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Originally, the plan was to launch the game on PC first, and the console releases were to come later.
Unfortunately, it is still unknown when exactly we can expect the new System Shock. The beta is scheduled for release early next year, available only tousers who backed the project during the crowdfunding campaign, so we expect the full version to debut in 2022.
It is worth mentioning that in a December post on System Shock's page on Kickstarter, the creators also assured that work on System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition is proceeding at a good pace and the game will be released simultaneously with the remake of the first installment.
