System Shock full remake on first screenshots
First screenshots form the upcoming System Shock remake emerged online via Polygon. See how original locations from this 1994 classic look like recreated on Unity engine.
System Shock: Enhanced Edition, a HD remaster which launched in September, is not all that Night Dive Studios has in store for fans of this classic game. As we know, a complete remake of System Shock is in works. To this end the developers are using efficient Unity engine to recreate original locations in brand new graphics. At the same time Night Dive Studios promise the remake will be “very true to the spirit of the originals”. Interestingly, we can now see some early results of their efforts, as Polygon laid their hands on first screenshots from the remake, and contrasted them with pictures from the 1994 game.
Fans will be glad to hear that Robb Waters, one of the artists who worked on the original title, is in the team behind the upcoming remake of System Shock. Right now we have no information as to when we can expect the release of the game, or which specific platforms it will hit, other than PC and broadly understood consoles. In the meantime, you can pick up System Shock: Enhanced Edition and System Shock 2 with a large discount on Steam Autumn Sale.
