System Shock Delayed Again; Players Surprisingly Understanding
We learned the new release date for System Shock Remake on PC. Let's hope it turns out to be the final one.
After a long period of silence Nightdive Studios finally announced a new release date for the remake of System Shock. Or at least its PC version - we still have to wait for information on the game's release on PS4, PS5, XONE and XSX/S consoles.
The remake of System Shock will debut on PC on May 30, 2023. Unless, of course, the launch is once again delayed. Recall that initially it was assumed that the title would be released at the end of 2017. Later, however, the title suffered at least three delays - first, second, then third - and in the meantime the project was rebooted from scratch.
After all, the remake was not limited to a faithful recreation of the story campaign known from the original. Nightdive Studios prepared new challenges and enemies for the players. In addition, the developer modernized the controls, interface and audiovisuals, as well as redesigned the hacking system from scratch.
You can test a sample of the team's achievements for yourself, by downloading the demo version of the System Shock remake. It is available exclusively on PC - on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store.
Fans praise the studio's decision
In the comments under the announcement regarding the game's new release date, several harsh comments appeared, telling the developers not to embarass themselves further with such announcements. They were responded to by gamers who had the opportunity to take part in the beta testing of the System Shock remake.
They claim that the decision to postpone the release date from March to May is a very good one, as the extra time will enable the developers to fully polish the game. To what extent this has been successful, we will find out in May (probably).
