Stonefly - Cute Action Game With Insectoid Mech Revealed

The Flight School Studio team, known from Creature in the Well, announced their next project. It turned out to be an action game called Stonefly, in which we will control a mech fighting insects. The game is coming to PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

We won't have to wait long for the release, because it's scheduled for this summer. The PC version will be sold both on Steam and Epic Games Store.

Revealing the game, the devs released the first trailer and a video showing the basic gameplay.

In Stonefly we play as a young inventor who decides to recover her father's beloved mech. The action will take place in a world of giant trees and insects. Also the robot itself will resemble an insect.

We'll observe the events from a bird's eye view. The gameplay will focus on exploration and combat. The key role will be played by modifying the mech through the crafting system, which will enable you to activate new abilities, useful both during battles and when overcoming obstacles. There will also be clashes with bosses.

Although the action of the game will take place outdoors, the gameplay structure of Stonefly is modeled on dungeon crawlers. The players will fight hordes of enemies and collect loot from the bodies of defeated enemies, which will be used to develop the mech.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that Stonefly already has a tab on Steam, which lists the game's system requirements. Unfortunately, for now only the minimum configuration has been revealed.
