Steam With New Activity Record

Steam just set another activity record. Yesterday, more than 26.4 million users were logged in at the same time.

Steam is currently experiencing a golden age. Another proof of this comes with setting of a new activity record. Yesterday, at the hottest moment of the day, 26,401,443 people were logged in at the same time.

Recall that theprevious record was a million lower (25,415,080 users) and was set at the beginning of January, this year. At that time it was the first day in Steam's history when it was possible to exceed the threshold of 25 million users logged in simultaneously.

The reasons for Steam's successes are many. The coronavirus pandemic made people spend more time at home, which helped the entire gaming industry to achieve record results. Valve's service is also growing rapidly in the Chinese market. Last week, the attention was drawn to Tale of Immortal, an RPG produced in China, which overtook such greats as Rust and GTA5 in terms of weekend activity.

Lately, every now and then we receive information about the success of various games on Steam. Aged titles, such as Stardew Valley or Rust set new records, and newcomers such as Dyson Sphere Program or NiOh 2 record very successful debuts.

All this shows that Steam is constantly evolving and its user base continues to grow. This is despite fierce competition (e.g. from Epic Games Store).
