Steam Makes it Easier to Download and Manage Games

Steam has received a major update with important changes. From now on, all users of the platform can enjoy improvements that make it easier to manage downloads and disk space.

Steam Deck has undoubtedly been the pride and joy of Valve in recent months, but the company by no means forgets about the development of the store to which the console owes the name. After all, it's the functionality of Steam that will largely determine the success of the device. Valve has released a new update of the store's client, and with it significant improvements, which were tested in the beta for a long time.

The first new feature is the redesigned download page, which has been significantly expanded. From now on, players can freely modify the download order by picking up and dropping files anywhere. In the case of updates, there is also an option to check the type of content (DLC, Steam Workshop, etc.) - indicated by an icon next to the game title - as well as the ability to instantly launch the title in question once the process is complete. In addition, Steam shows the entire progress of download and installation, not just the former as before.

The update also makes it easier to manage space on our computer, including multiple drives. To gain access to the new memory manager, after updating the client on Steam menu, go to the application settings, and then to the "Downloads" tab. There you will find the "Steam Library Folders" option, which enables you to see how much space games, add-ons, Workshop content, and other Steam files take up on individual drives.

In addition, Valve has made various improvements to other features of Steam, including Remote Play Together, SteamVR, Steam Cloud, and the friend list. A full review of the changes can be found here.
