Steam keeps growing.

Valve published a summary of 2018 on Steam. As usual, it included many interesting numbers. We learned that 90 million people use Steam every month, 47 million of whom do it every day.

The current activity record is 18.5 million people logged in simultaneously. It is also impressive that every month 1.6 million users make their first purchase on Steam.

2018 was another year of change for the platform. Among other things, Valve improved content filtering tools and added websites of developers and publishers. The wish list functions were also expanded and additional tools were offered to allow the developers detailed analysis of network traffic associated with their games.

Valve also had to improve its infrastructure so that it could cope with increasing traffic. Last year, Steam delivered 15 exabytes (15 billion gigabytes) of data to users. For comparison, the total Internet traffic in 2003 (the year the service was launched) was about 9.3 exabytes.

It is worth mentioning that the last weeks were full of summaries of various aspects of the service. We got to know the most popular and profitable games in 2018 and we got to know which pads are most often used by Steam users.

In addition, yesterday we informed that there are more than 30,000 games available on the Valve platform, most of which have had their release over the last two years. And today we've written about eight most important changes coming to Steam this year.
