Steam Hardware Survey - More and More Players Own AMD CPU
Valve has published another edition of Steam's hardware and software survey. In November, AMD increased its market share for both CPUs and graphics cards.
Valve Software has published another edition of Steam's hardware and software survey. It shows the status as of the end of November 2019, revealing that AMD chipsets are found in 20.5% of PCs. They are noticeably more popular, 24.9% users, among Linux enthusiasts. It is also worth noting that most Steam users choose quad-core CPU units (51.16%) with clock speeds between 3.3 and 3.69 GHz (21.45%).
AMD is gaining popularity in the CPU market and a similar trend can also be observed when it comes to graphics cards. Although Nvidia's dominance is still clearly visible (74.55% of users prefer Nvidia hardware), the number of players choosing it has decreased by almost 1.1% since last month. Analogous stat for AMD GPUs increased from 14.99% to 15.48% in the same period. The most popular graphics card remains the GeForce GTX 1060 (29.28%, 0.42% more than a month ago).
Among the operating systems, the 64-bit version of Windows 10 is the most common, although the number of users of this OS has decreased by 2.28% since October. The second place was taken by Windows 7 64-bit, which was chosen by 19.18% of players (increase by 2.47%). Only 0.09% of Steam users use software other than windows.
