If Bethesda Hadn't Changed Its Mind, Starfield's Protagonist Would Have Adam Jensen's Voice
We learned the names of the actors who were to lend their voices to Starfield's main protagonist. Previously, we could hear them as Adam Jensen from Deus Ex and Fury from Darksiders 3.
In June 2022 - so more than a year before release - Bethesda confirmed that the protagonist of Starfield will be "mute." This contradicted rumors circulating on the web that in this space RPG the main character would be voiced, like in Fallout 4.
Now we have learned, which actors would be heard in the role of the main characters of Starfield. The male character was to be played by Elias Toufexis - the "voice" of Adam Jensen from Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - while the female protagonist was to voiced by Cissy Jones (among others, Fury from Darksiders III and Delilah from Firewatch).
This information was revealed by the former of the two actors. In addition, Toufexis revealed that he and Jones both have been working for several months before Bethesda ultimately decided to make the main character "mute."
Interestingly, Toufexis and Jones were not dropped from the game's cast. Instead, they were given the roles of companions - Sam Coe and Andreja. "Games NEVER do this," Toufexis wrote on Twitter/X, expressing his respect and gratitude to Bethesda.
In another post, the actor mentioned, that the noises made by the protagonist - whimpers, etc. - are still "his." "So, when you travel with Sam, both characters make the same sounds," he commented.
It is worth adding that Toufexis wishes to lend his voice to Adam Jensen again, but for now he has nothing to do but wait for a phone call. It is possible that he will receive it in some time. Last year, popular industry journalist Jason Schreier reported that Eidos Montreal is developing the next installment of the Deus Ex series.
