First Expansion for Starfield is Already in the Pipeline And More are Coming
Bethesda is preparing a lot of post-release content for Starfield. The story DLC already in the making will not be the last.
Although there are still a few months left before the release of Starfield, the highly anticipated RPG from Bethesda, we already have information about the game's post-release support. As soon as the pre-orders of the game started, we learned that buyers of the digital Premium Edition and the collector's Constellation Edition will get access to the feature DLC called Shattered Space. As it turns out, Bethesda has more post-release content planned.
IGN got this information from Todd Howard, director of Starfield. Despite the fact that the base game itself will be huge and is expected to give players a ton of options, we can expect some post-release expansion.
"We will be creating a lot of post-release content for Starfield. We love doing it. Our fans love it. We're going to make a story-driven expansion that will come to the game in the future. Our plan is to create things of different sizes, just like in our previous games [...]," said Howard.
So fans can get ready for both large expansions (such as Fallout 4: Far Harbor), as well as smaller DLCs (similar to Wasteland Workshop). As Howard said, Starfield is expected to be supported for a long time:
"So despite the size of the game, there are still things we want to add in the future as [gameplay - ed. note] features, stories and the like. Hopefully that will be the case for a long time."
For now, we don't even know the details of just-revelaed story DLC Shattered Space. As it is already being created, we can count on new information related to it in the near future (perhaps around the game's release).
Starfield will debut on September 6 on Xbox Series X/S consoles and PCs. If you want to learn more about the game, take a look at the latest lengthy gameplay footage.
