Starfield Player Killed Elite Level 98 Pirate 100 Times and Analyzed Loot
One Starfield player took an almost scientific approach to Bethesda's latest game. He decided to kill an elite space pirate 100 times in order to see what the man was hiding in his vast pockets.
Since the debut of Starfield the gaming community has not ceased to surprise with its creative approach to Bethesda's new game. The possibilities offered by the title (it must be honestly admitted despite the criticism) have already resulted in many kinds of achievements for interstellar tourists. Starting with visiting all the celestial bodies available in the game, to populating one of the cities... with milk cartons.
This honorable group has now been joined by user known as Endecc, who boasted on Reddit about his interesting, if somewhat disturbing, project. The Starfield player decided to kill an elite pirate Lv 98 a hundred times (being at level 82 himself). Why? To see what kind of loot he would acquire and whether the drops depend on something specific.
Professional, even "scientific" approach of Starfield player to the problem
Endecc made the results of his research available in the form of a professionally designed sheet, from which we can learn that during the tests the pirate's carcass dropped 66 rare items, 24 epic items and only 10 legendary items.
- Among the acquired loot, the most were weapons (60 pieces) - helmets (13) and suits (11) were much less common. The elite pirate also carried 16 packs with other types of items.
- The player noted that the game did not use any scaling of weapons. This means that when killing a level 98 boss, you can get both legendary and completely common loot (and these, as we noted above, are much more numerous).
- On the pirate, the player found only certain types of firearms. Some of them dropped out much more often than others. Among the legendary loot, only one representative of firearms appeared - the Magstorm rifle (twice).
- It is also interesting that only some of the dropped weapons had modifications installed. "Researcher" suggests that this may depend on the faction to which the opponent belongs.
- Taking into account the data collected and the comments of readers under the post, it seems that the proverbial white raven in Starfield may be the Hard Target sniper rifle. In the course of his studies, Endecc came across this particular type of gun only once.
"Earlier this week I played with the Outpost Chest to find some interesting legendary items. Last night I ended up making a million-dollar circle around Neon, selling all the junk weapons I had no intention of keeping. In doing so, I went from about 600,000 to 4.2 million credits. This required selling hundreds of weapons. Do you know how many Hard Target rifles I had in that pile of weapons, both the ones I kept and the ones I sold? Literally one. Just one. And it wasn't even legendary," one reader wrote under Endecc's post.
But back to the fan's findings, it seems that Starfield insufficiently rewards players for clashes with more challenging opponents. It is true that for the subsequent sale of loot you can rake in quite a handsome sum of money, but for those who want to use the loot, in most cases it will simply prove too weak.
In any case, the inquisitive player is to be commended for such an impressive project, as is the pirate who died as many as 100 times in the name of science.
